For my final project, I developed a comprehensive digital content marketing plan for Spudsy, focusing on creating strategic messages aimed at their target audience. This plan leverages multiple digital touch points to address audience needs and pain points, incorporating a mix of social media, blog posts, and other online content. Throughout the semester, I’ve honed skills in message development, audience analysis, and platform-specific content strategies to create engaging, cohesive campaigns. My submission highlights a clear, professional approach, showcasing the importance of understanding audience behaviors and crafting content that resonates with them.
Voice Book
For this project, I created a brand voice book for Spudsy, outlining the brand’s unique personality and tone. This document serves as a guide to maintaining a consistent, authentic brand voice across all digital content.
Print Ad

For this assignment, I designed an 8.5” x 11” vertical magazine ad, focusing on the key principles of effective design. The ad includes a visually striking image, a concise headline, and clear body copy that highlights both the features and benefits of the product. I crafted a memorable slogan to tie the ad back to the brand’s core message, while also incorporating a strong call to action that encourages the audience to take specific action. The ad was created using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, emphasizing balance, movement, and hierarchy to ensure a clean, effective layout. Additionally, I made sure the brand logo was prominently displayed to ensure brand recognition and consistency.
Spudsy Blog
This blog post was created to connect with Spudsy’s target audience. I used a conversational tone throughout to engage the audience, encourage them to try upcycled snacking, and promote a sustainable lifestyle that Spudsy aligns with. To support my points, I embedded relevant links to provide additional context on topics.
The blog post is structured to be persuasive without feeling overly promotional. It combines my personal perspective with the brand’s values, aiming to foster a conversation around sustainable snack alternatives.

Persona
This assignment involved conducting both primary and secondary research to create a comprehensive consumer persona for a specified target audience. I selected the target audience and gathered demographic, psychographic, and behavioral data from various reliable sources, including KU library guides, U.S. Census data, Pew Research Center, and Mintel. I conducted primary research by interviewing individuals who fit the target audience profile.
After compiling the research into a detailed document, I synthesized the findings into a visually appealing consumer persona. This persona includes key demographic information, typical daily activities, media consumption habits, purchase factors, and the specific needs the brand could meet.

News Release
For this assignment, I wrote a news release using an inverted-pyramid structure. The release was designed to engage both journalists and a general audience. I included an attention-grabbing headline, a lead that answered the 4Ws, and two quotations—one from the Founder and another from a relevant source. I also provided a detailed paragraph about the event and a boilerplate with brief company information.
Strategic Message Planner
For this assignment, I used my research skills to develop a strategic message planner based on the information I compiled. The more I knew about the product, industry trends, competitors, and consumer perception, the stronger my messaging strategy was. I utilized sources and wrote a detailed summary for each section, citing sources where applicable.
Social Media Posts
To promote the blog post, I chose Facebook as my social media platform, as they are highly popular with my target audience (health-conscious snackers and those interested in plant-based diets). I crafted two engaging, visually appealing posts designed to capture attention and drive traffic to the blog. Both posts include eye-catching visuals, concise text, and relevant hashtags to encourage maximum engagement and share ability.
